Having served the Bolton community of the town of Caledon for over 30 years, The Dental Smile Centre has been a staple in the community for the better part of 4 decades! Our office has become our patient’s dental “home”. Our patients are made to feel welcome and comfortable with each visit. Dr. Babak Shokati
Prosthodontist (crown and bridge/implant specialist)
Dr. Babak Shokati is a board-certified prosthodontist. He received his dental degree in 1998 before obtaining his Master’s Degree in dental biomaterials and then MSc. specialty degree in Prosthodontics from the University of Toronto.
He is currently holding a faculty position in the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, directing Prosthodontics and Biomaterials Science courses. He practices as a prosthodontist with a focus on dental implants, and management of prosthetic complications.
As an educator, Dr. Shokati is heavily involved in lecturing on a variety of continuing education courses related to dental implants. Drawing on his extensive experience in clinical practice, Dr. Shokati’s teaching approach is mostly revolving around evidence-based concepts and implant prosthetic techniques.
In his clinical research at the University of Toronto, he had the privilege of following up and assessing the first group of North American implant patients treated by Professors Brånemark and George Zarb in early 1980’s to investigate the long-term outcomes of classic implant-supported bridges. This clinical study has been published in the dental literature and well-received in the academic community. Dr. Shokati has published several research articles in international peer-reviewed dental journals.
Dr. Marian Rizk
Dentist - Owner
Dr. Marian Rizk is the owner of The Dental Smile Centre. She graduated from the University of Toronto, faculty of dentistry in 2000 with honors and since then has invested in extensive training and education in implant and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Rizk is also a certified Invisalign dentist. She has treated thousands of patients and children and practices all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Rizk has been serving the Caledon community as a dentist since the year 2000 and has grown the practice to include various specialty services since she has taken it over in 2005.
Dr. Rizk is a member of the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) and is a part-time clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. She has attended numerous training workshops and courses with the prestigious Dental Training Centre, Spear Education, in Scottsdale Arizona.
Dr. Rizk enjoys traveling whenever she is not at the office.
Dr. Abraam Dawod
Dentist
Dr. Dawod graduated in 2002, since then he has been practicing different aspects of dentistry.
Dr. Dawod’s primary goal is to make his patients feel comfortable during the treatment and happy about their teeth.
Over the years Dr. Dawod developed his skills in family, cosmetic dentistry and wisdom teeth extractions through continuing education and extensive training.
Dr. Dawod enjoys spending his spare time cooking and with his family outdoors.

Derek
Dental Hygienist
Derek took a careers class in grade 10 that required him to take personality quizzes that would help guide him into a career choice. Each time he took the quiz, dental hygiene would come up in the top 3! Attending his orthodontist’s office on a regular basis, he observed the dental settling and believed he could flourish there.
From that point on, Derek followed through with his goal to graduate from dental school. He completed a year of dental assisting at George Brown, then moved to Barrie after being accepted into the pristine Dental Hygiene program at Georgian College’s Sadlon Centre for Health and Wellness.
Graduating upon the Dean’s List within the Class of 2014 was a huge accomplishment for Derek that made his mother and 2 brothers proud as he was the first person in the family to graduate from post secondary.
Derek went on to work in various offices all over the GTA which gave him a wide range of experience treating clients from all walks of life. He prides himself on taking quality care of every person he comes across with an empathetic approach while providing efficient treatment with a gentle touch that his clients can appreciate.
When he is not at the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, or passing time by watching basketball and boxing or reading personal growth literature.
